In October, we received word that we were chosen as a grantee of Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation’s Inclusion Open initiative. This initiative was created to break down barriers for entrepreneurs who have been left behind due to socioeconomic, demographic, or geographic barriers. Per the Kauffman Foundation, the grantees were selected after demonstrating that they have helped entrepreneurs meet challenges in areas such as developing business models, obtaining funding, and building management teams.
How the Grant Will Help Us
Celebrate EDU is the first-ever disability-focused organization that the Kauffman Foundation has ever funded. Through our 2-year grant, we will be working to break down the entrepreneurial barriers facing the disability community. In addition to receiving funding, we also have the chance to be a part of a dynamic community of people working to make entrepreneurship more inclusive.
Working Together for Change
Last week, Celebrate EDU Board Chair Nate Olson & I attended the Inclusion Open Summit with grantees from the past 3 years to discuss how we can work together to make a larger change. We are honored to be included in the incredible group of organizations working to level the playing field for entrepreneurs and can’t wait to see what an impact we make. Thank you to the Kauffman Foundation for this incredible honor, we are thrilled to be part of this community.
