With more than 4.62 billion active users around the world, social media has become an important business tool for entrepreneurs. Whether you’re well established or just starting out, your business should be on social media. Here are 4 reasons why:

1. It Will Build Brand Recognition and Awareness

Customers like to buy from brands they recognize and trust. Social media can help get your business in front of new customers more quickly and easily than traditional media (newspapers, radio, etc). Posting consistently online will keep your business and products fresh in people’s minds, even when they’re not actively seeking you out.

2. It Can Improve Your Customer Service and Experience

64% of people across all age groups say they’d rather message a business than call or email. (Hootsuite) Having a social media presence provides your customers with a comfortable alternative to contacting you: direct messages. By meeting your customers where they’re at, you’ll increase customer satisfaction and make it more likely that they’ll purchase from you again.

3. Customers Use Social Media to Research Brands

A 2021 consumer study found that 55% of consumers learn about brands or companies from social media. A customer can learn a lot about a business, its values, and products from what the business posts. A professional social media presence can help customers feel more confident in your business and encourage them to buy from you.

4. It Keeps You Ahead of Your Competitors

If your competitors don’t have a social media presence yet, they will soon, and you don’t want to fall behind. Having a social media account can help you stay on top of trends and your target customer’s interests. This can help you create content that will resonate with your customers and drive interest in your products or services.
