Jacob is friendly, inventive, and creative! These strengths help him shine whether he’s at work or pursuing his passion for 3D printing. We’ve known Jacob for several years now, and we’re excited to share his student story with you!
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? I live in Nebraska and work at a store called Mainstreet Market three days a week. In my free time, I really enjoy designing and 3D printing things. It’s fun to try new projects.Â
When did you first get into design and 3D printing? I first started getting into design and 3D printing in high school after taking a couple of STEM classes, and it’s something I stuck with. I graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Technical Graphics and Design in May 2020.Â
I’m very creative, and that is a strength that helps me with 3D printing! I like that I can create whatever I want.
How did you get connected with Celebrate EDU? I did a Kindling Workshop in 2017, and a few years later in 2021 I took Spark 101, and have stayed connected since then. (Jacob is currently participating in a new pilot program called Bonfire Club).Â
What did you learn from taking Spark 101? Taking Spark 101 helped me learn more about myself and what I’m good at. It gave me more confidence, and taught me about strengths I didn’t even know I had! It also showed me what kind of work setting I like best.Â
Did you discover your awesome?! Yes, I’m very creative, and that is a strength that helps me with my 3D printing. I like that I can create whatever I want.Â
What are your goals for the future? Eventually, I would love to have my own 3D Printing Business! I want to start by making custom keychains for people to buy, and then see where I can go from there.
